power of persuasion

Covert persuasion is a sophisticated art form of hypnosis that involves far more than the questionable techniques taught in conversational hypnosis courses. Conversational hypnosis is only one piece to the complex puzzle of covert hypnosis because conversational hypnosis teaches you nothing about the timeless principles of social dynamics and how social dynamics can be used to control and predict human behavior. Covert persuasion has always valued the power of non verbal suggestion because non verbal suggestion is without a doubt the most powerful and frequently used tool in the power of persuasion.

Non verbal suggestion not only uses a person’s reputation and image as a means to persuade and influence others, it also uses social conditioning to persuade people and to adjust their decision making processes. Social conditioning is simply the process where people are programmed through a variety of social systems to abide by a certain conduct or preconceived set of social standards. When covert hypnosis utilizes the processes of social conditioning and integrates them into the power of persuasion, this is commonly referred to as social engineering.

Social engineering is powerful because it has a far larger scope in the power of persuasion than the practice of language. Even when conversations are not taking place, people are still influenced through social engineering. They are influenced and sometimes even controlled through the power of social engineering even in the absence of covert hypnosis tactics. This means that conversational hypnosis cannot possibly symbolize the fullness of covert persuasion.

Now, while it is true that covert persuasion will use conversational hypnosis if the circumstances are right, it is equally as true that the circumstances seldom permit an opportunity for conversational hypnosis to be practiced. Social engineering tactics never fail because they take advantage of the fact that people have already accepted certain things as being true. When people have already accepted certain things as being true, they can effortlessly be persuaded to take actions that are within the boundaries of what they accept as being true.

Even the existence of conversational hypnosis is in violation to what many people acknowledge as being true because many people have been led to believe not to talk to strangers. This means that the moment a person is approached by a stranger trying to use conversational hypnosis, that the conversational hypnotist has already started the persuasion process the wrong way. If they have initiated the persuasion process the wrong way, it goes without saying they are likely to end it the wrong way.
