But is conversational hypnosis capable of doing everything it says it can do? Without doubt conversational hypnosis does consist of many attention-grabbing topics, but once again we must ask ourselves if indeed conversational hypnosis actually produces results. This means language patterns may look good on paper but in real life situations conversational hypnosis will not profit you. Covert persuasion has always been and always will be on a completely different level than conversational hypnosis, because covert hypnosis is the only type of hypnosis that has been invented to enable you to persuade people outside of clinical settings. There is a big difference in using conversational hypnosis in an office to help someone quit smoking from attempting to use conversational hypnosis to covertly persuade someone without them knowing what you are doing.

Conversational hypnosis is based upon the use of words, and yet everybody had experienced the fact that words are cheap. Words can be resisted, words can confuse people, or people can simply chose not to agree with them. Covert persuasion, in contrast, cannot be resisted because the mind does not have the ability to process exactly what is happening and there is no actual message to reject. Non verbal suggestions consist of power, and everybody knows that those who rise in power also rise their social status. For this reason many hypnosis experts are in agreement that the disguised and invisible forms of hypnosis are the most successful resources available to learn covert persuasion.
