Covert Hypnosis

The art of covert hypnosis is often misrepresented. The reason why so many covert hypnosis courses misrepresent the art of persuasion is because the persuasion techniques portrayed are taken from therapy. This means many covert hypnosis students were taught that Ericksonian Hypnosis can be taken outside of a therapeutic environment and applied towards power persuasion.

This is entirely untrue. You cannot use hypnosis techniques that were designed for one purpose and apply them to an entirely different function. It is true that this is subject to debate, but what is even more true is that you can easily verify this for yourself by simply trying to use therapeutic hypnosis tactics to influence people out of of clinical settings. You will soon notice that you simply do not get any results.

But many people, in spite of the lack of results they get attempting to use Ericksonian hypnosis outside of clinical settings, still try to use hypnosis techniques that were initially invented for therapy. The reason people keep trying to use conversational hypnosis is because they think the reason why they are failing to get any results is due to a lack of mastery of the hypnosis techniques on their part. True, it does take a long time to perfect Ericksonian hypnosis, but no matter how much time and energy you spend mastering Ericksonian hypnosis techniques, you will never be able to use this form of hypnosis for anything that it was not initially created for.

Ericksonian hypnosis was created for therapeutic reasons only. Milton Erickson cured people of chronic pain and helped people with headaches. Of course, there is absolutely nothing wrong with using hypnosis for therapeutic purposes, because it can help people live healthier and more satisfying lives. However, as far as the power of persuasion is concerned, we must use the type of hypnosis that was invented for persuasion to help us persuade people.

People have wasted thousands of dollars and have spent countless hours trying to master conversational hypnosis for the wrong reasons. This is why over the last decade, many covert hypnosis experts have forsaken conversational hypnosis and have begun to get good at the disguised forms of hypnosis, as it is always the invisible types of hypnosis that are most suitable for the art of persuasion.

If you take a shark out of the ocean, the shark will die because it has been removed from its environment. This same rule pertains to Ericksonian hypnosis because out of a clinical setting, Ericksonian hypnosis will die and will not yield any results within the realm of power persuasion because it is a form of hypnosis taken outside of its environment. This means that in order for hypnosis techniques to work, that you must think about if the type of hypnosis you are going to use was initially invented for the outcomes that you are trying to accomplish.
